Savour The Festivities This Season At Bikanervala

Terminal 3 in Changi Airport got more interesting 3 months ago. In June, Bikanervala opened up it doors to the travelers and non travelers alike and soon became a much loved haunt for its multi cuisine delights. From the trademark specialities of Chole Bhature to the Dosa varieties to the Chaats and the Indo Chinese the place offered quick fixes for any craving. The simple yet elegant décor, convenient location and the friendly staff add to making it a pleasant dining experience.

So when I was invited for a tasting of the Navaratra Thali which is the latest in their kitty of offerings, I couldn’t wait and set off on the tasting journey with anticipation.

This Thali is created keeping in the fasting tradition of Navaratri and is made with the ingredients that are usually consumed and do not use onion and garlic. The Thali is priced at 15.50$ and available from 11:00 AM -10:30 PM from 21st- 29th September. It comes with 4 piping hot kuttu (Buckwheat) atta (special dough eaten during Navaratra) pooris with 3 vegetable gravies to go – Aloo (potato), Kadu( pumpkin) and kofta ( minced vegetable balls). The meals completes with a Millet Khichdi , Raita and some Sabudana (sago) Kheer. The meal was quite a delight- light, wholesome and yet tasty and complete. The raita and the kheer chilled to perfection and a delightful way to end the meal.

The response to the thali has been fantastic and lot of patrons have been frequenting the restaurant to enjoy the Thali. Currently these meals are served only at the restaurant and available for takeaway on prior orders.

Bikanervala believes the festivities have just begun and this is the first of their series of festive thalis (set meals) coming up for the upcoming festivals. The store is also stocking up on stock for the upcoming Karwa Chauth festival and will be setting up various items for the festival.

The restaurant also plans to introduce some classic Bikanerwala combos – Kadhi Pakoda , Rajma Chawal as part of the regular venues. The owner Pramod Kumar Verma also shared some interesting plans to create more interesting dine in options in terms of chaats and snacks. We surely look forward to seeing some live in action soon.

The store has also some very exciting Diwali sweet hampers including chocolates, cookies, nuts and their trademark sweets available for pre order at their store.

So plan a trip this weekend to the airport with friends/ families and enjoy the view and some fantastic food and create a memorable experience. After all the festivities are incomplete without good food and great company.
