“I must say that no one else has ever made on me the impression that Shrimadji did. His words went straight home to me… In my moments of spiritual crisis, he was my refuge.”

Yugpurush – Mahatma Na Mahatma is a play that helps you discover Mahatma Gandhi in the true sense. It brings you through the untold story of Mahatma Gandhi – one that is little known to the masses. He was deeply influenced by his relationship with Shrimad Rajchandraji. The play is a representation of their friendship which later evolved into Gandhiji adopting Shrimadji as his spiritual mentor.

The play is currently storming the globe. It has now been viewed by a whopping 648,506 people in 293 cities! After travelling through North America, the United Kingdom and Africa, the play now comes to Hong Kong. Yugpurush has received critical acclaim from dignitaries who have lauded the performances and the content. This acclaim is contributing to the multiple awards it is winning including the Dadasaheb Phalke Excellence Award 2017 for Best Drama.

Yugpurush commemorates the 150th birth anniversary of Shrimad Rajchandraji. While spreading Shrimadji’s values of ahimsa and satya, the proceeds from the play will support the construction of the Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital. This is a new 200 bed charity hospital in South Gujarat that will support the rural poor in the area.

The Consul General of India in Hong Kong, Puneet Agrawal, is delighted to support the show. “In the modern world, the teachings of Mahatma Gandhi propagating peace and non-violence have become all the more relevant,” said Mr Agrawal.

Kirit Doshi, the Hong Kong organizer of Yugpurush, hopes to use this opportunity to share a piece of history with the younger generations. “Most of us do not know that it was Shrimad Rajchandraji, Gandhiji’s guru who made Mohandas Gandhi into Mahatma Gandhi. This is a piece of history that is little known and we wanted to have our fellow Indians in Hong Kong discover this untold story”, shared Mr Doshi.

Yugpurush is bound to educate and enlighten you. Be sure to catch it.
